Chris Morris

Chris works closely with management teams across the South looking to grow their business. He is responsible for identifying ambitious teams that would benefit from the support of a private equity partner and working with them throughout LDC’s investment. 

Chris joined the LDC South team in 2018, and in total has 14 years’ experience working with private equity backed businesses. Since joining LDC, he has supported a range of growing and entrepreneurial businesses in the region, including leading LDC’s investments into digital transformation services provider FSP and data and network security specialist Red Helix. He was on the board of specialist communications technology provider Babble, working closely with the management team to execute a successful buy and build strategy before Babble’s £90m buyout in 2020.

Other LDC transactions include LDC’s investments in Aquavista, the largest operator of inland marinas in the UK, and recruitment technology provider Amberjack.

After graduating from Newcastle University, Chris spent nine years at Lloyds Banking Group in roles covering private equity, leveraged finance and restructuring. He spent four years in the Group’s Acquisition Finance team, where he supported a range of mid-market private equity buyouts, recapitalisations and acquisitions. Prior to this he worked in the Equity Investments team, where he worked on debt for equity conversions and other restructuring transactions during the global financial crisis.
