As the leading private equity partner in the South West & Wales, our Bristol and Cardiff team is committed to supporting ambitious management teams.

LDC launched in the South West in 2008 with an office in Bristol, extending our footprint further in 2016 with the launch of our Cardiff office – the first on-the-ground mid-market private equity firm in Wales. Across both offices we have invested more than £300m in ambitious businesses.

The team’s recent investments show the breadth of their experience and include innovative legal tech firm The Barrister Group, Cakesmiths, an independent artisan cake manufacturer and TMC Pharma, a global pharmaceutical development organisation.

LDC also boasts Bristol-based digital media agency Hybrid, leisure business Zip World and international software provider Sohonet in its portfolio.

Recent exit success includes the world’s largest producer of natural history programmes, Bristol-based Plimsoll Productions (Plimsoll) to ITV plc. With LDC’s support, Plimsoll grew sales from £35m (FY19) to £50m and recorded an EBITDA of £10m (FY21).

The team has strong personal ties to the region and has supported the Bristol Sports Foundation as title sponsor of Break the Cycle since 2020.
