Deal type
- Management buyout
Management buyout and patient capital enables insurance company to develop its own proprietary software.
Validus was established in 2007 to provide claims-management and analysis services to the UK motor industry. Since then, it has evolved to develop its own software to support the automation of claims services for insurance providers in the UK and overseas, including Australia.
LDC-backed buyout
We completed a management buyout of five senior shareholders in 2013 in a deal worth £12m. This significant backing was the boost that the management team needed to drive its organic growth strategy.
The team at LDC has provided the financial and managerial support that is essential to any business with ambitious growth plans.”Ed Van Rooyen, CEO
Verified success
The Norwich-based company excelled from there as its Verify™ software grew to serve over half of the UK’s insurers by number of claims. The award-winning software came to be responsible for more than 50 per cent of the group’s earnings.
Over the course of a five-year partnership with LDC, Validus picked up numerous awards, including Claims Partner of the Year at the Insurance Times Awards.
Major trade sale
We exited our investment in Validus when the business completed an international trade sale to NASDAQ-listed Verisk, a leading data analytics provider, in 2018.
