LDC’s Yorkshire team was named ‘Funder of the Year’ at the Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards, announced today by Yorkshire Business Insider.
The awards, which celebrated major transactions in Yorkshire, recognised LDC’s outstanding performance in backing the growth ambitions of the region’s business community.
During the qualifying period, LDC exited Pelsis Group following a four-year partnership that saw the Knaresborough-based manufacturer double in size and grow international sales from €87million to €150million, and Leeds-based Sigmat after supporting the steel framing provider to grow its UK footprint and invest heavily in sustainable methods of construction.
LDC’s Yorkshire team also backed the merger of Leeds-based Linley & Simpson with Lomond Capital, in a £100million transaction that created a new national lettings and estate agency group. LDC first backed Linley & Simpson in 2018, supporting an ambitious buy-and-build strategy that saw the business make 18 acquisitions and double its portfolio from 5,000 to 10,000 properties.
The award caps off a busy 12 months for LDC in Yorkshire. The team has completed seven transactions and supported their portfolio companies in making more than 20 acquisitions over the period. In August, it completed three transactions in just one week, with a combined enterprise value of more than £415million.
LDC remains committed to backing ambition across Yorkshire, actively looking for new opportunities to invest and continue to support the growth of their existing portfolio.
