LDC recognised in Real Deals Future 40: Climate Change Champions

LDC has been named in this year’s Real Deals Future 40: Climate Change Champions list in recognition of our commitment to sustainable investing and contribution to a more sustainable future.

The list highlights the investors, funds and advisers in the private equity sector that are driving the fight against climate change and promoting sustainability in the investment world.

The judging panel evaluated innovation across crucial aspects such as the articulation of the organisation’s climate strategy, its effective implementation, and the measurement and transparent communication of these initiatives.

The judges commended LDC for our ambitious climate change targets; to achieve net zero operations by 2030 and to help our portfolio companies, across diverse sectors, to reduce emissions by 50% over the same period, and make sure that all are on a path to reach net zero by 2050 or sooner.

LDC is also actively seeking to invest in ESG-enabling businesses following investments in the last few months including market-leading sustainability data and technology provider Sedex and Wind energy technical services provider Boston Energy.

The judging panel also recognised our commitment to implementing ESG improvements across our business and portfolio, drawing attention to our dedicated ESG Director Alex Bexon, training programmes and an ESG committee with broad representation.

LDC was commended for its use of decarbonisation principles to guide its portfolio companies, supported by regular data collection and sharing of information internally and externally via our website. We are also proud to be a committed member of the ESG Data Convergence Initiative, an industry-led initiative that collects ESG data to create a critical mass of meaningful, performance-based data for private companies.
