LDC takes home Equity Funder of the Year at Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards

LDC was named Equity Funder of the Year at last night’s Insider Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2022.
The awards, which celebrate the achievements and contribution of Yorkshire’s corporate finance community, recognised LDC’s exceptional performance in the region and the quality and strength of the businesses it has invested in.
During the qualifying period, LDC completed six transactions with a combined enterprise value of just under £600m. New partnerships included the firm’s investment in York-based communications services provider Cellhire and London-headquartered BCIS – a transaction that saw the UK’s leading cost benchmarking and valuation platform for construction become an independent company for the first time, having previously been part of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The judges were also impressed by LDC’s successful exit from Bradford-based recruitment business SPS Group, following a ten-year partnership that saw the company’s management team pursue an ambitious international growth strategy and increase annual turnover to £170m.
The award rounds off an exciting period for LDC in Yorkshire. The team has welcomed four new members since August 2021 to increase its support of mid-market businesses across the region, appointing James Marshall as Investment Director, Sophie Isaacs as Origination Manager and Anthony West and Ana-Maria Garaba as Investment Managers.
The Yorkshire team also continued to support the local community through its charity partnerships. This includes its support of the cancer care centre Maggies, and Candlelighters, which helps families facing children’s cancer across Yorkshire, and working closely with local business and the advisory community to raise funds in aid of Ukrainian refugees.
LDC’s Yorkshire team is now set to increase its support for companies across Yorkshire, backed by the firm’s commitment to invest in at least 100 mid-sized businesses nationally over the next five years.
