LDC portfolio company Amberjack took home the Diversity in Tech Impact Award at this year’s Thames Valley Tech & Innovation Awards.
Hosted by The Business Magazine, and now in its sixth year, the awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses from across the region, showcasing the best in technology and innovation and championing the people and companies driving success.
Newbury-headquartered Amberjack, which provides specialist services and software solutions to many of the UK’s largest employers, was recognised for how its proprietary online recruitment assessments have helped leading brands to improve the diversity of their workforce.
The company’s ‘Future Potential’ candidate assessments, which it uses both internally and for its clients, are designed to be bias free and buck the trend of past experience being the crucial component when assessing potential hires. Instead, they are founded on four key pillars: grit, digital mindset, creative force and applied intellect.
These pillars have become central to Amberjack’s model and its mission to enable a world where people are hired based on their potential, helping to remove barriers and help build more diverse, more successful, and more resilient organisations. In the last year, the assessments have helped clients across a broad range of sectors to diversify their teams.
Amberjack, which helps more than 350,000 candidates a year to find a new role, was also recognised for its internal diversity and inclusion strategy and initiatives. This includes its mentoring programme and mandatory Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) training for all colleagues, which is part of its strategy to ensure its workplace is inclusive and individuals feel supported whatever their background or situation.
