The past 18 months have not been easy for the UK economy, but as we come together to celebrate LDC’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme for 2021 it is clear to see that the flame of ambition is hard to extinguish.
Now in its fourth year, and supported by The Times, The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme celebrates the inspiring individuals that are driving forward some of the UK’s most successful and fast-growing mid-sized firms.
Those people that are not only growing their organisations and disrupting industries, but also creating jobs, innovating to develop smarter products and services, seeking opportunities to drive expansion overseas and actively putting purpose at the heart of what they do.
This year we received more than 600 nominations – almost double the number of nominations received in 2020 – and it has never been more difficult to choose just 50.
The individuals celebrated in this year’s Top 50 hail from every corner of the country, operate across a multitude of different industries and together they employ 9,500 people and generate annual revenues of £1.2 billion.
From pet food connoisseurs to IT whizzes and engineers to marketeers, each business leader has a personal mission to make a difference and all are ready to prove that even in the most difficult of times, businesses can find opportunities and grow.
We are proud to celebrate every individual within this year’s Top 50, as well as our Ones to Watch for 2021 – those business leaders who are tipped for great things.
John Garner from LDC, said: “The last 18 months have presented challenges that none of us could have foreseen, but despite everything, it’s fantastic to see that so many business leaders have achieved remarkable things.”
