LDC’s South West & Wales team collected a trio of successes at the South West Dealmakers Awards last night, as it was named ‘Private Equity House of the Year’.
The judges praised the team as the ‘most consistent’ equity funder in the South West.
The award win came alongside triumphs for portfolio company Amberon and LDC’s exit of A-Gas to KKR, which collected ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Deal of the Year’ respectively.
Amberon, one of the UK’s leading providers of traffic management services, secured a £25m funding package from LDC and HSBC in July 2017. The investment has since funded the business’ regional expansion.
Deal of the Year was awarded to KKR’s acquisition of A-Gas, a market leader in the distribution and life-cycle management of speciality gases and chemicals.
LDC originally invested £29m in A-Gas in 2011 to support its growth strategy, and subsequently invested £30m to support the company’s acquisition programme. It exited its investment to global investment firm KKR in June 2017 and the deal was praised by the judges for its ‘scale and complexity’.
