LDC strengthens East Midlands & East of England team with new investor

LDC, the private equity investor which is part of Lloyds Banking Group, has increased its support for management teams across the East Midlands and East of England with the appointment of Kevin O’Loughlin as Investment Director.
With 15 years of experience in the region, Kevin joins LDC following six years at private equity firm NorthEdge. As a Director, he led multiple new investments, supporting the growth of some of the region’s most prominent and fast growing businesses, including Nottingham-based software company Altia and Spalding-based grower of ornamental plants, flowers and herbs, Bridge Farm Group, as well as wider deals including Orbis Protect, ICP, Correla and Catalis. Prior to this, Kevin spent three years at Deloitte where he worked on a range of transactions involving privately-owned and publicly listed businesses, after starting his career in the Corporate Finance team at EY.
As an Investment Director at LDC, Kevin will be responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities, leading transactions and supporting the management teams of LDC’s portfolio businesses as they pursue their growth ambitions.
Kevin’s appointment comes at a busy time for LDC’s East Midlands and East of England team. Over the past 12 months, the team has completed five transactions with a combined enterprise value of more than £200m. Recently this includes an investment in Mansfield-based specialist performance door set manufacturer IDSL, as well as the successful exits of Nottingham-based digital transformation provider ENSEK and education specialist The Edwin Group, alongside several bolt-on acquisitions for existing portfolio companies.

Alongside transaction activity, LDC’s team in the East Midlands and East of England has continued to give back to the local community, volunteering regularly with foodbanks across Derby, Nottingham, Lincoln, Leicester, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Norwich and Cambridge. So far this year, the team has also raised more than £22,000 for When You Wish Upon a Star, a charity that has been fulfilling the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses since 1990, granting more than 18,000 wishes across the UK to date, bringing the total amount raised for the charity to £146,000 since 2012.
