James is an Investment Director in LDC’s Yorkshire team, based in Leeds. He is responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities, leading transactions and working with the management teams of LDC’s portfolio businesses to drive growth.
James joined LDC in 2022 and has over 15 years’ experience in private equity and corporate finance, supporting the growth of businesses in key sectors such as technology, healthcare and business services.
Since joining LDC, James has led three new investments: Bullen Healthcare (the UKs largest independent Appliance Dispensing Contractor); UniHomes (a Student accommodation platform); and Boston Energy (an Offshore Wind specialist). He sits on the board of all three businesses.
James started his career at EY where he became a Chartered Accountant. In 2014, he moved into mid-market private equity. Since then, James worked on a range of successful investments with a combined equity deployed in excess of £300m.
