HSL Compliance is a market leader in environmental risk and compliance, and specialises in water, hazardous materials, fire safety and associated Health Safety and Environmental services.
The business records revenues of approximately £40m annually and employs over 300 people in the UK.
Going for growth
In May 2019, LDC invested £20m to back the carve out of SGI Holdings Ltd. from global testing, inspection and certification group Kiwa. SGI Holdings Ltd. comprised SGI Compliance and HSL Compliance.
In 2021, LDC supported HSL Compliance to acquire Albany Oak Limited, an established water and effluent treatment specialist based in Wales. One year later, HSL Compliance completed two further acquisitions to support its expansion across the UK; DMA Canyon and Jordan Environmental who specialise in water compliance services.
In August 2023, SGI Holdings Ltd. sold SGI Compliance, its continental European business, to CERTANIA. HSL Compliance remained separate from this transaction.
HSL Compliance is now investing in its current portfolio of services to accelerate organic growth and also looking to add complementary service lines through a targeted buy and build strategy in the UK.
Since October 2023, HSL Compliance has acquired three businesses including Belfast-based water treatment specialist Chemical Treatment Services Ltd (CTS), remote monitoring business Plexus Innovation, and fire and air compliance specialist RJ Urmson Group.
