Two LDC-backed businesses recognised at Management Today Business Leadership awards

Two LDC-backed businesses have been recognised at the Management Today Business Leadership Awards 2023.

The awards, which celebrate the role of leadership in driving business performance, named Onecom’s acquisition of Olive this year’s Best Merger or Acquisition.

The transaction, which created the UK’s biggest B2B integrated cloud communications specialist, saw revenues at the group increase by a third to £140m and the creation of 113 new jobs. Judges commended the acquisition for its “clear benefits for all stakeholder groups – both commercially and from a people perspective, and as proof of a successful integration.”

Ben Ridgway and Jamie Cooke of iamproperty were also highly commended for the Best Growth Initiative award, in recognition of the business’ launch of iamsold, the UK’s largest auction service provider. LDC invested in iamproperty in 2019, to help accelerate the business’ organic growth and diversify its offering. Judges were impressed by iamproperty’s “comprehensive and considered approach to growth.”

The overall winner of the Best Growth Initiative award was Russ Lidstone, CEO of The Creative Engagement Group, which was previously backed by LDC. The Creative Engagement Group’s growth journey was praised by the judges as “a clear and impressive growth strategy for a diverse business.”
