LDC has launched its 2020 search to uncover Britain’s most ambitious entrepreneurs, inviting business leaders from all over the UK to enter the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme.
Now in its third year, the programme is run by leading mid-market private equity investor LDC and supported by The Telegraph. It will reveal and celebrate the inspiring leaders behind some of the UK’s most successful and fast-growing medium-sized firms.
Last year, Clint Wilson, former group chief executive of ParentPay, the online payment service for schools and families, was crowned the Most Ambitious Business Leader at a celebratory event in London.
The judges praised Clint for his “vision and entrepreneurial vigour,” after he led ParentPay to become the leading payments platform for UK schools, serving 5m parents nationwide.
On receiving the award, Clint commented: “We have worked incredibly hard to build a great business that has transformed the way payments are processed within schools. We’re currently growing by 70 per cent a year, and are on track to reach 80 per cent market share. It’s been an incredible journey, which wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated team. It’s an honour to be recognised as LDC’s Most Ambitious Business Leader, and we look forward to building on our achievements as we target further growth.”
In addition to recognising the Most Ambitious Business Leader, the programme will also celebrate those business leaders who show a continued commitment to making a difference and those with bold international growth plans.
In 2018, Julian Hearn founder of powered food brand Huel was named the UK’s Most Ambitious Business Leader.
Andy Grove, LDC’s Head of New Business, said: “The UK has a long-standing reputation for its entrepreneurial endeavour and success. The Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme offers the perfect moment to celebrate the inspiring entrepreneurs driving the nation’s most exciting medium-sized firms.”
