Naomi McDiarmid, Investment Manager in LDC’s North East and Scotland team, took home Young Financier of the Year Award at last night’s North East Young Professionals Awards 2022.
The awards, which honour the region’s rising stars aged 35 and under, recognised Naomi’s proactive and practical approach, as well as her enthusiasm, determination and thirst for knowledge.
The judges also praised the key role she has played in some of LDC’s recent transactions in the North East, including the firm’s minority investment in Gateshead-based Aspire Technology Solutions, one of the fastest-growing IT managed service cyber security providers in the UK, and Stockton-on-Tees-headquartered shipping container supplier Cleveland Containers.
Naomi joined LDC in 2021 and quickly established herself as a key player in the local corporate finance community at an exciting time for LDC’s North East and Scotland team. To increase support for the region’s fast-growing businesses, the team has also recently welcomed Aaron Lawson-Clark as Investment Director and Emma Borrie as Investment Manager.
The growing team plans to back more management teams across the North East and Scotland as part of LDC’s nationwide commitment to invest in at least 100 businesses over the next five years.
Lewis Pennicott, Marketing Director at Cleveland Containers, also picked up the award for Young Marketing and Media Professional of the Year. Lewis’ leadership has helped the business to increase visibility in a crowded market and increase new business enquiries by 47%.
LDC extends its congratulations to all of the individuals that won awards or were shortlisted at the North East Young Professionals Awards 2022. You can view the full list of winners here.
