LDC’s David Bains recognised in Real Deals Future 40

David Bains, Partner and Head of the East Midlands and East of England, has been named one of Real Deals’ Future 40 Mid-Market Investment Leaders list for 2023, announced today.

The list celebrates the investment professionals that have not only closed notable deals, but have also made significant contributions to the private equity ecosystem in the regions they operate and beyond.

The judges praised David for leading two of LDC’s most notable exits during 2022. This included the realisation of a 10-year partnership with Forest Holidays through a merger with Sykes Holiday Cottages, during which the Derbyshire-based owner and operator of environmentally sensitive cabins doubled its enterprise value and invested more than £100m into Britain’s forests. Under David’s stewardship, LDC helped the management team to open five new locations across the country and successfully expand the business’ reach.

David was also instrumental in LDC’s exit of managed IT and cyber services provider Littlefish to Bowmark Capital in August 2022. This followed a three-year partnership, during which David served as the sole LDC member on Littlefish’s board and helped the management team to almost double revenues, win significant new client contracts and develop its cyber security arm.

In addition to his role in successful exits, David was also commended for his strong relationships with the local advisory community, as well as promoting the benefits of private equity in driving growth and employment for ambitious businesses in the East of Midlands and East of England region.
