LDC picks up trio of awards at Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2022

LDC’s team collected three awards at last nights’ Insider Midlands Dealmakers Awards.
The team was awarded International Deal of the Year for the exit of Solid Solutions to US-based TriMech, Mid-Market Deal of the Year for its investment in Kingswood, and Deal of the Year for the exit of Forest Holidays to Sykes Holiday Cottages.
In the International Deal of the Year category, LDC was recognised for its two-year partnership with Solid Solutions, a market leading reseller of 3D design software. During the partnership, Solid Solutions grew revenues by more than 35%, up to £73m in its latest financial year, and was named one of the 75 best companies to work for in the Midlands by its employees.
The transaction saw LDC exit the business to TriMech, a US-based technology and business solutions partner that will now support the next stage of Solid Solutions’ growth journey.
LDC’s investment in Kingswood, the Worcester-headquartered business that sells products to help people with mobility difficulties, was named Mid-Market Deal of the Year. The judges noted it was ‘made possible thanks to the combined funding and advisory abilities of a powerful Midlands dealmaking team’.
Finally, LDC was recognised for its involvement in the acquisition of Derbyshire-based Forest Holidays by Sykes Holiday Cottages, which was named Deal of the Year.
LDC first invested in Forest Holidays in 2012 and over the next decade supported the management team to deliver its growth plan, while continuing to support its sustainability strategy. Earlier this year, LDC realised the investment from its 10-year partnership with through the exit to Sykes Holiday Cottages and the combined business is now united by a common purpose to bring further benefits to nature, people and local communities.
The accolades round off an exciting 12 months for LDC in the Midlands. The team is now set to increase its support for companies across the region, backed by LDC’s commitment to invest in at least 100 mid-sized businesses nationally over the next five years.
