LDC named Private Equity Firm of the Year at East Midlands Dealmakers Awards

LDC took home two awards at Insider’s East Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2023, landing Private Equity Firm of the Year and Deal of the Year (above £10m) for its exit of managed IT and cyber services provider Littlefish.
The Awards, which celebrate the contributions and achievements of the region’s dealmaking community and was held at The Nottingham Belfry Hotel.
On naming LDC Private Equity Firm of the Year, the judges commented: “The original and the best. Does anyone do more? LDC’s investment in growing the team in the East Midlands is a testament to its commitment to investing in businesses in this region.”
LDC completed five transactions within the qualifying period, with a total enterprise value of more than £600m, including its investments in Stonbury and Blis, and its exit of Littlefish.
LDC’s Nottingham-based team also grew significantly during this time, with the appointments of Simon Peacock as Investment Director and Mikayil Salahov and Nicole Wong as Investment Managers.
The team was also praised for its continued involvement with local foodbanks, by donating to and volunteering at sites across Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, and Norwich.
LDC’s exit of Nottingham-headquartered Littlefish took home Deal of the Year Award (above £10m), with the judges praising a three-year partnership that saw Littlefish almost double its revenues from £18.6m to £36.4m, and its headcount to more than 450.
The exit was commended for showing “just how private equity should work,” and demonstrating the team’s strong relationships with the East Midlands advisory community.
LDC’s investments in Stonbury and Blis were also shortlisted for the Deal of the Year (above £10m) and Deal of the Year (below £10m) categories respectively.
