LDC-backed Blue Bay Travel celebrates Midlands BVCA award win

LDC-backed Blue Bay Travel has scooped an award at this year’s British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Midlands Management Team Awards.

Blue Bay Travel, the online travel agent specialising in long-haul holidays to the Caribbean, Mexico and Indian Ocean, was named the winner of the Growth Management Team of the Year category. The award recognises businesses with an enterprise value of less than £20m that have achieved strong growth in the past year.

LDC invested in Blue Bay Travel in February 2017, helping it to accelerate growth by investing in its proprietary price comparison technology and online booking platform, expanding its team of travel experts and launching new, innovative products.

The judges were impressed by the passion of Blue Bay’s team and their approach to working with private equity as a partner.
