The charity art trail has been unleashed in the city this week and will feature ‘Gromit P Sullivan’, an LDC-sponsored sculpture designed by Pixar Animation Studios.
Over a two-month period, 67 individually designed sculptures of Nick Park’s Academy Award®-winning characters Wallace, Gromit and Feathers McGraw will appear across Bristol. LDC is sponsoring the Pixar Animation Studio’s creation, adding a Monsters Inc. creative spin to a well-loved character. The fluffy sculpture is on show at the Gromit Unleashed 2 shop in The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. ‘Sulley’ (as we like to call him!) also hosts a contactless donation point on him where visitors will be able to donate £2, £5 or £10 and all money raised from donations will support the Bristol Children’s Hospital Major Trauma unit.
Visitors will see the best of the city’s highlights during the trail and will also get the chance to buy their favourite sculpture when they are to be auctioned in October to raise more money for The Grand Appeal.
Gromit Unleashed 2 follows the success of two previous art trails, including Gromit Unleashed and Shaun in the City, which collectively raised more than £6m. The trails have funded pioneering life-saving equipment and research at the hospital, as well as free family accommodation and support, music, arts and play programmes.
We’re extremely proud to be taking part to raise money for The Grand Appeal, and you can keep up to date with The Grand Appeal here.
We look forward to seeing you on the trail!
