LDC-backed ENSEK and Giacom have been named in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100, the national league table which recognises the UK’s fastest growing technology businesses.
It is the third consecutive year Hull-headquartered Giacom has been recognised in the Tech Track 100, with the business climbing eight places from 55 in 2018 to 47 in 2019.
LDC first backed Giacom in 2016 to enable the business to consolidate its market-leading position and capitalise on the increasing demand for cloud-based solutions. Since then the specialist cloud services marketplace has increased turnover from £6.6million to more than £25million.
This year also marks the second consecutive year Nottingham-based ENSEK has featured, placing 80th in this year’s list. ENSEK provides customer service solutions to a fifth of the UK’s energy suppliers and this announcement follows a period of significant growth for the energy software developer, which has seen sales almost triple in the last three years.
LDC first backed the management buyout of ENSEK in October 2017, helping to drive the business’ focus on new product and proposition development. In the first year of its partnership with LDC, ENSEK more than doubled revenues from £2.7million in 2017 to £6.2million in the financial year to March 2018. Over the same period, headcount also increased twofold to more than 120. This year the businesses’ sales grew to £8.7million.
