The nationwide workplace survey celebrates Britain’s top employers and recognises workplaces that have consistently high levels of employee experience and wellbeing – and both Croud and The Edwin Group were listed as one of the best 100 ‘Big Organisations’ to work for.
The Edwin Group, which has been backed by LDC since 2020, ranked as one of the top 10 in its category. It recruits and supplies teachers and support staff for schools and was recognised for its commitment to positively impact the lives of young people, having invested £600,000 to support mental health, attendance, sports and creative arts in schools. Its 263 staff also benefit from 31 days’ annual holiday, four weeks’ paid paternity leave and management training, and the business is carbon negative.
Digital marketing agency Croud, which has been backed by LDC since 2019, was recognised for continually reviewing and introducing new benefits to keep its people and culture at the heart of the business. Earlier this year, the firm appointed its first ever Chief People Officer, Audrey Lucy, who is leading on driving forward Croud’s culture and people initiatives.
What’s more, three alumni from The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme, which celebrates the leaders behind growing businesses from every sector and region of the UK economy, were also recognised by The Sunday Times.
Indian street food chain Mowgli Street Food made the top 10 for big organisations and was highly commended as one of the Best Places to Work for ethnic minority employees. For each full-time employee in its 652-strong workforce, the Mowgli Trust sponsors a child in India and staff from across its 17 restaurants can travel to India to learn about charitable projects and the cuisine’s history.
In the ‘Small Organisations’ category, drinks manufacturer Boost Drinks was credited for its customised professional development plans, while hair and beauty brand Cloud Nine was recognised in the ‘Medium Organisations’ category for investing considerable time and focus to enrich its employees’ experience in the workplace.
We would like to congratulate all the businesses that were recognised by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023 – you can read more about the list here.
